End Grain Cutting Board

End Grain Cutting Board

Your knives will thank you when you switch to one of our end grain cutting boards. The fibrous ends of a board allow blades to sink right in leaving you with knives that retain their sharpness.

Made by hand, our cutting boards are finished with butcher block oil for a smooth, satin finish.

Our end grain cutting boards are made with sustainably sourced walnut, cherry and maple lumber. We use Wooden Union Butcher Block Oil to provide a smooth, satin finish that can be easily maintained over time and should provide decades of faithful service.

Have a food allergy? Need an alternative finish? Let us know! We can’t solve every problem, but we will promise to do everything reasonably possible to accommodate you.

Caring For Your Cutting Board

To clean your cutting board, use warm, soapy water and scrub with a standard scotch brite pad. Do not submerge the platter in water.

When you are finished cleaning, dry the board as thoroughly as possible. Then, stand the board on end and leave it to dry completely.

As mentioned above, your cutting board is finished with Wooden Union Butcher Block Oil. This is a food safe, non-curing, permeable finish. Over time, with routine care, the finish may start to fade. Apply the oil liberally and allow it to soak into the end grain. Let the wood absorb the oil for approximately 30 minutes. Then, wipe away the excess as thoroughly as possible. If you see any dry spots, apply more oil and repeat. Your board will be ready to use immediately.
